In Montemar, Bataan, the resort we stayed in cultivated pawikans (large turtles) until they hatched. Then during sunset, right before the moon would shine, they would let the little pawikans loose by the seashore where they would slowly make their way to the sea, guided by the moonlight. About a hundred were let loose. Only one or two make it to adulthood.
